The video below walks through the full process of building and sending an email campaign in TouchBasePro using the free Template Builder.

Step 1: Start a new campaign

In your account, click the 'Send an email campaign' link, then hit the green 'Getting started' button. You'll fill in the campaign basics here: name, subject line, from name, and from email address.

Step 2: Choose a template

You'll see a range of free templates. Pick one that fits your content. Every template is fully editable, so treat them as a starting point rather than a finished product. If you'd prefer to start from scratch, that option is available too.

Step 3: Build your content

The Template Builder works on sections, think of them as rows that hold your content elements. Add a section, then drag content elements (images, text blocks, buttons, spacers) from the left-hand panel into it.

A few things worth knowing as you build:

  • Images are added by uploading a file from your computer. Once placed, you can adjust the element's properties in the left-hand panel.
  • Text elements start empty. Type directly into them or paste from elsewhere, then format using the standard text tools.
  • Spacers are useful for controlling vertical spacing between elements without changing padding settings.
  • To change font colour across the whole template at once, switch from the 'Add content' tab to the 'Customise' tab and update the global font colour there. This saves you changing each text block individually.

For split layouts, add a multi-column section and place your image and text elements side by side. Elements within a section stay in their own columns and don't overlap.

When you add a link, you can control its alignment through the element's properties in the left-hand panel.

Step 4: Preview and finalise

Once your template is ready, click 'Preview' to check how it looks on both desktop and mobile. When you're happy, click 'Continue' to move to recipient selection.

Step 5: Add your recipients

If you haven't added contacts yet, you can paste them in directly or upload an Excel spreadsheet or CSV file.

Step 6: Send or schedule

Sending a test is recommended before going live. When you're ready, you can send immediately or pick a date and time to schedule the campaign for later.

Once the campaign goes out, a report will appear in your account showing how it performed.
